What I Love About the Blogging Community

Lately people have been talking about blogging and people knowing whether they blog and dictating what they share and all that jazz. I thought eh, I have two cents. Might as well use it for something!

I wanna talk about you ladies! You who are here in the blogging community reading this. It is hard to explain this community we have to non-bloggers.

I mean we spill tons of info on our blog and I know for me personally, bloggers who read my blog and interact with me, know more about me than people in my IRL.

I don't feel the slight bit weird about this. We bloggers are a special group of people. We are there for each other through thick and thin and are the best of interweb friends.

I know there has been lots of talk about how bloggers don't like each other, are leaving hate comments, or just plain out being mean as of late, but I have never had this happen.
Probably because I am not a "big blogger". Obviously the more readers you have the more attention you get, and so maybe more people, more opinions, but I think that people honestly may have some jealousy issues.

I mean who of us hasn't been jealous? I know I have. Even in the blog world.

But at the end of the post day you ladies that I have had the pleasure of interacting with and calling friends, have been some of the most understanding, best supporters, advice givers, and passionate people I have "met".

Tina Fay said "You all have got to stop calling each other sluts and whores. It just makes it okay for guys to call you sluts and whores. We have to stop deriding each other for our choices, and work together to improve the choices we have and our chances for success in whatever path we choose to pursue."

This is why I love the blogging community of you ladies. We are always there for each other and I know we learn a lot from each other.

  3. I love everything you say here, and couldn't agree more! It's strange, but I feel so much more comfortable dishing my deets here in Blogland than IRL. Don't get me wrong, there are a select few who get to hear everyythingg, but for the majority of the time, Blogland is where it's at.

It's strange because when I find out someone IRL reads my blog, it almost makes me think twice before I post something personal. Isn't that strange? But strange or not, I love the blogging community, and am so thankful for it!

  5. Awesome post...I too have yet to receive a negative comment (fingers crossed). Agreed on putting myself out there more on my blog than in real life. I actually get pretty embarrassed when someone I know from the real world mentions my blog.

  6. Well said!! I don't want drama IRL and certainly not in my blogging world. I find that I am more open on my blog because the bloggers I have met are so awesome and supportive I'm not afraid to share.

  7. I actually have a post in the works similar to this. I'm just tired of women always trying to one up each other. It's not necessary. Just be happy for each other.

  10. I love that you posted about this because I've been thinking about it a lot lately! It's amazing what a nice comment or e-mail from someone can do for a girl. And it is so cool how the blogging community is so supportive!

  12. This is so cute! It's so sad how ruthless and mean women can be! :( But we just have to rise above them and continue to be an example! My mom has always shown that example to me and just turns the other cheek, I am glad for her example because sometimes I let others get the best of me. But love this post!
