His and Her

I think for the first time ever I got Kevin to participate in my blog!

I am Kevin

I want to have fun

I have to fill this out

I wish I had a million dollars

I hate nothing

I fear heights

I hear Matchbox 20

I search for my keys

I wonder when the Broncos will win the Super Bowl

I regret that the Broncos lost the Super Bowl

I love Lauren

I ache after skiing

I always work hard

I usually sleep well

I never go to sleep angry

I rarely am angry

I am not always busy

I lose my sunglasses

I'm confused when the Broncos lose

I should go to bed

Angel Heart / more art here

I am happy to be his wife.

I want to have a romantic getaway one day to Mexico and Australia.

I have a better marriage than I ever thought possible.

I wish that we lived near trees.
I hate that sometimes I fail at cooking dinner.

I fear the loss of loved ones. I know it's part of life, but it's unfathomable.

I hear the sound of his heart when I lie on his chest.

I search for fun stuff to do with him.

I wonder about our future kids.

I regret many things, but nothing in my relationship.

I love that he is able to provide so well for us.

I ache to be wrapped in Kevin's arms.

I always try to have a good outlook on life.

I usually am on the computer, working, sleeping, or eating. I need to do the last one less.

I never want to live a single day without Kevin, which is why I told them that I have to die first.

I rarely have time to read anymore and I don't like that.

I am not always the perfect wife, but I try my hardest.

I lose at any game I play with my husband.  Well, except for Clue and Ticket to Ride. :-)

I'm confused when Kevin doesn't agree with me. I mean, c'mon...I'm ALWAYS right ;-)

I should tell him how much I love him. And blog some more starting Monday!!

Thank you for participating, my love.
It means the WORLD to me.
I just have to say...I am so in love with you that it's kind of ridiculous,
but I wouldn't change a thing!

Lauren is Linking up Again!!

Gah! Remember the good old days of Tuesday Topics?!? I loved it cause I always had fun things to write about and read at least one day a week!

This time I am doing a one time link up with some fab ladies and I hope you join us!!!

We all link up on the last Friday of the love month (aka the 28th)
Here is the prompt we are using. These are starters to sentences and you just finish them off!

I am
I want
I have
I wish
I hate
I fear
I hear
I search
I wonder
I regret
I love
I ache
I always
I usually
I never
I rarely
I am not always
I lose
I'm confused when
I should

So for example:
I am always happy when he is around.
I want a puppy

you have your boyfriend, husband, significant other, best friend, whatever, finish those same sentences!

This will be the first...and possibly last time I will convince Kevin to make an appearance on this blog! HAHA!

Oh and the ladies that are hosting this with me? They are awesome, check them out!

She is totally one of those best friend type of girls. She even posted about how we pretty much could finish each other's sentences if we could just live in our sweatpants in the same city and watch Gilmore Girls!
Life Style Love

I knew her IRL (in real life) before I knew her blogging! I wish she would move back to me here in sunny AZ but she is starting what is amounting to a beautiful family! She is one of the kindest girls you will meet!
happy joyful day
I met her while she was living in AZ! She has a super nice husband named Gary and they are off on their next adventure in West Virginia.

Life of a Sports Wife

We hope you link up with us! Have a happy weekend!!

When you have a case of the Thursdays

You wait for Friday.
Because Friday comes with announcements on the blog!
Stay tuned!

That is really all you can say.
I am trying to make it through this Thursday quickly because I am excited to go on a ski trip weekend.
Pro: I get out of the hot weather.
Con: I am not in shape so skiing could be rather hard.

Love Filled Day

Valentine's day can get lost on me us sometimes. Sometimes I find myself hoping for flowers or an over the top romantic gesture. This Valentine's Day morning when I woke up and there wasn't a rose petal path to a puppy with a ribbon, I was disappointed. It took a bit and then I realized, this day isn't about rose petals that would eventually stain my carpet and a puppy that would do the same; it is about loving life. Loving the ones closest to you. Now I am the worst offender at this. Today I took a deep breath, and thought about:

Walking into work and realizing, I am so lucky. I love my co-workers.

Kevin (after I got over the lack of puppies) is the best thing that has happened to me.

A text from my mom made me smile.

My dad who always made each one of his killers feel extra special on Valentine's Day.

My girlfriends far away and near.

A sweet comment from a new blog friend will always without a doubt makes me smile every time.

I do love Valentine's Day and do think that it should be celebrated, and today I am glad that I reminded myself how else I can love on Valentine's Day. My entire mood is happier today. I hope you all have love filled day today and everyday!

The Cheese Plate

I am obsessed with cheese. It is one of my top three favorite foods alongside chocolate and bread. Plus usually if I am enjoying some nice cheese, that probably means there is some wine accompanying it which always makes me happy!

Every time I go to make a cheese plate, I feel like it will look so fancy. And then I get on Pinterest.
Don't ask me why I compare, but I do.

Here is mine. Note that this does not picture my soft garlic cheese!

Yeah I suppose I should use some more cheeses...
What else do you guys like besides Brie??

Now I am going to go stuff my face in cheese!

In Light of Everyone's Bad Weather....

Living in the southwest all my life, I really have it good in terms of weather. Everyone has different weather problems to worry about no matter where you live, but since this winter has been down right terribly cold for most, I thought I would find some funny things to "warm" up the mood today.

I found this map a guy created using data of user responses and NOAA's average annual snowfall days map.

Admitting his map was not perfect (everything is relative), he also posted these series of clarifications:
1. The lightest green says "any snow" but also includes merely the prediction of snow. Also, this is snow accumulation over 24 hours/overnight.
2. In much of the Midwest and Great Plains, school closing often depends more on wind chill and temperature than on snow accumulation ("cold days"). Thus, this map may be misleading in those areas.
3. Many jurisdictions in California and other western states have significantly varied snowfall, depending on elevation. This makes it difficult to find an "average" number, or often makes it misleading.
4. Urban areas like Chicago and New York have more resources to clear snow and often need more to cause closings.
5. To everyone saying "I grew up in so-and-so and we never closed school," policies have changed in the last 20 years to make closing a much more common occurrence. Just because schools stayed open back then doesn't mean they do these days.
6. Hawaii does get snow! Just... not where people live.
7. Data was taken from hundreds of various points from user responses and interpolated using NOAA's average annual snowfall days map. Any corrections/additions are welcome, just give a decently specific location.

Oh and then I found this article that just had me laughing HARD. That was totally true for me living in southern New Mexico.

Have a warm Monday!!

Olympic Events I Would Dominate if They Were Olympic Events

Today is the first day of the winter Olympics. Overall I favor the summer more because I am a swimmer, but since Kevin has taught me to ski I enjoy watching winter more than I used to. Plus anything that is all about USA winning and coming together...I am in!!!

In honor, I thought I would share some different "events" I would rock at if they were in the Olympics. Clearly cause I would never make into the Olympics as they currently stand...

I can truly trip over anything....it is sad.
Periodic checks... :)

Watching Football
I truly have the perfect setup going on, lots of food, my computer with Fantasy Football open, and Redzone! I rock at watching football!
Story of my life

Eating Chocolate
Trust me. No one can eat more chocolate than me. I sadly assure you.
Conventional wisdom and the SAD diet... chocolate addict

Grouping food at the Grocery Store
I pretty much own that conveyor belt standing in line at the grocery store. I can group all the food so quickly and efficiently. #ocd
This is SO ME!

Not eating fruits and veggies
Totally shouldn't be proud of this one...

Reading Bad Handwriting
Helps me out as a nurse for sure!!

Getting Distracted And Forgetting To Eat
This is one event I wouldn't even come close to qualifying in....but a girl can dream!

What events would you qualify for in the Olympics?!
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Inconsistent Budgets

There have been times in my life where my paychecks were really inconsistent. All through college and even after then. For a short time I was an Agency Nurse. This was basically a substitute teacher for nurses. I made a little more than average, but I wasn't guaranteed a schedule. Therefore, bimonthly income was different every time. I know there are a lot of different people from all walks of life with inconsistent incomes and I thought I would share a bit on how I organized myself.

First off I had monthly files and filed every bill into the appropriate month. I would then use excel to figure how much needed to be spent on necessities (bills and food and such) and minus that off of MY WORST month. Sometimes it got pretty hairy, but you just have to know you will have better months and you can use those funds to help with not so great months.

Personally finding ways to cut some corners can be done. My two biggest corners I have cut have been cutting cable and price matching my groceries. If any of you are interested in price matching Out of Milk is a great app.

I never was consistent enough to plan a whole year and then guesstamate for the next year, but if you keep the same inconsistent job for a while, you can pretty much turn inconsistency to consistency!

I think I will top off my night with a 5 dollar bottle of wine. Maybe just one glass...it is a school work night after all!

Five More New Year's Resolutions

Everyone has their standard New Years Resolutions, me included. But I must admit that I am a homebody. Am I looking to totally change that this year? Nope, but I should make a couple of resolutions to better my homebody self.

I will stop binge eating and watching my favorite TV shows on my DVR.
This resolution may not last long...
17 New Year's Resolutions Every Homebody Should Make

I will go out more on Friday/Saturday nights.
This resolution will last until my bank account reminds me why I don't do this.
17 New Year's Resolutions Every Homebody Should Make

I will make plans on the weekend so I have an answer to "What did you do this weekend?"
This resolution will last exactly one weekend. Cause that is when I will get lazy and order delivery.
17 New Year's Resolutions Every Homebody Should Make

I will stop judging people when I finally do go out.
This resolution will last until someone does something completely wack.
17 New Year's Resolutions Every Homebody Should Make

I will do my hair and put on jeans more often.
This resolution...we will just have to see.
17 New Year's Resolutions Every Homebody Should Make

Any other homebodies out there?
What are you resolving to do this year?!

When I married the right person

Lately I have noticed a lot of posts about whether it is right of wrong to get married young in life. I just really hate all of those posts. Why is society so concerned about how old you are when you are married? If it is right it is right. I really have no problem with the fact that I married the right person for me at age 23. To be honest I probably could have married him even earlier than that...
the way it should be! <3
Plus with all of these articles like "23 things to do instead of being married at 23" list things that I can do while being married! I dare someone to find me something I cannot do for the sheer fact that I got married at age 23.

Furthermore, (wow can you tell this is my rant voice?!) If I did not marry the beautiful man that I married so "young" I sincerely believe I would be a lot more close minded. Yeah you heard right. Kevin has been able to expand my views on different topics and make me a better person.

All and all, I do not think that there is one and only person out there for you in the world.
I actually think that there is probably a number of people out there we are compatible with and would be happy with.

But one thing I'm sure of is that I found & married the perfect person for me. Here is why:

We don't get sick of each other.  Kevin is my best friend and has been for 9 years. We haven't even gotten sick of each other! Holla!

We love each other despite our differences. We very much so have some differences. He steals the sheets, I steal the pillows. He lives in the present, I'm very futuristic. He uses big spoons, I like little ones. He likes his eggs scrambled, I like mine sunny side up.  I eat tons of chocolate, he drinks lots of Mountain Dew. Neither of us is wrong, just different.

We agree on ALMOST everything. I cant even imagine how draining it must be to disagree with your spouse on a regular basis and have frequent heated discussions.  Generally speaking, we agree on most things..if not, we compromise or I win. :-)

We are similar. We're both laid back, middle-of-the-road kind of people. We're  perfectionists when we need to be and we try to do right by everyone.
I love you so much pumkin <333 I love that your my best fiend, I love that we can talk about anything in this world together, and we can just be ourselves around each other and, I love that were so perfect together it seems like we been with each other for our whole lives. You'll always be my one and only love for the rest of my life.

If you don't take any pictures, did it even happen?

You know the saying "If a tree falls in the woods but no one is around, does it make any sound?" Sometimes I feel that way about weekends and blogging... If I have no pictures to show for my awesome weekend, then did it really even happen? This was one of those weekends.

I did post a picture of my hiking on Insta. That is how I spent half of my Saturday. My poor calves are paying the price as we speak. Then we had to go buy new tires, alignment, and oil change on Kevin's car. Boo. Lots of money I don't like to spend...

Then Sunday. Yeah. Didn't go well for me.
Pretty sure it was cause this jerk didn't stay in the basement...
Denver Broncos

Or it was the illuminati.
Or maybe this kid should have gone on the field and helped them...
Denver Broncos Repin & Follow my pins for a FOLLOWBACK!

All joking aside, I think the Denver offense over thought themselves trying to play a different game to trick the Seattle D. It just didn't work and gave Seattle all the momentum.
Hopefully we will be back in orange next year!

Oh and other things that weren't so great for the Super Bowl (in my humble opinion):
I ate too much.
The national anthem was eh.
The halftime show was eh.
The commercials were eh.
The POTUS was eh....not good.

I hope everyone has a great week!
Mine should be super busy and important work-wise so if you wanna say a little prayer for me, I wouldn't mind! :-)
