Greenville, South Carolina // Asheville, North Carolina

For our 3rd Anniversary, Kevin and I took an incredible week vacation spending time in four states: Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. I am going through all the highlights this week. Enjoy!

We started off our trip flying into Atlanta, GA simply because we could get non stop flights and it was cheaper. We then drove to Greenville and spent the night and morning there and then headed up to Asheville to see The Biltmore.

Here are the highlights from our trip:

We ate right downtown at The Lazy Goat. Very good small bites and a great ambiance. The next morning we went for a walk along the river and just enjoyed the beautiful weather and scenery.  Their downtown area is very beautiful and clean. I could see the draw!

I even found a piece of New Mexico in South Carolina...The Yucca!
(that is the white flowering plant behind me in this picture.)

We pretty much came here for the Biltmore Estate. It is truly beautiful and rich with history. As an added bonus, being a Downton Abbey fan, they had an exhibit with clothes worn on the show throughout the house. Just FYI you can't take pictures in the house.

We kind of didn't know where to start with the estate, but we ended up rushing somethings because we did somethings in the wrong order. My mistake is your lesson. If you do the Biltmore, I recommend this order:

Go to the winery first, do the tasting, we missed the tour of the winery but would have liked to do that. Their wines are not great at all, but it is part of your ticket price. Don't be turned off by the long line, they do a pretty good job of getting you in the tasting room fast.

Then just go eat lunch at their restaurant Deerpark. It is a beautiful restaurant with a great buffet.

Then do the gardens and then do the house tour. So beautiful!

Have you ever been to Greenville or Asheville?
What were your favorite things to do?

  1. I loved the biltmore when we went, I would love to take hubby there one day! Sounds like a great trip!!

  2. Happy Anniversary!! What an amazing trip! It looks like you got to experience a lot and that you had a great time. I definitely need to check out some of these places. Visiting Charleston has been on my bucket list for a while, so it's helpful to know what parts are worth exploring.

  3. Asheville has an amazing craft beer scene as well as all of the outdoor activities that come with being in the mountains.

Comments make my day!
Thanks for the love <3
