Travel Lust: USA

I love traveling! It helps that I have a real savvy travel companion in Kevin. I seem to be always thinking about the next vacation!

I've been lucky enough to travel a lot within the United States.  But when it comes to overseas travel?  I haven't been anywhere.  Just Canada, Mexico and the Bahamas.  There are so many places I want to see all over the world but I always run into the same "problem".  Every time I start to think about planning an overseas trip (like possibly visiting Italy), I tend to get distracted with another awesome idea and we stay in the good ole U.S. of A.  There are just so many amazing things to see right here at home that I haven't felt a super strong desire to leave yet!  Anyone else know what I'm saying?

Here are a few places in the great 50 states I haven't been to that I can't wait to visit, in no particular order...

1.  Grand Canyon // Horseshoe Bend // Antelope Canyon // Sedona // Lake Havasu // The Wave// Petrified Forest, Arizona

2.  Maui, Hawaii (We have been to Kauai and it was great!)

3.  Las Vegas, Nevada

4.  Cape Cod // Nantucket, Massachusetts

5.  Lake Tahoe // Yosemite, California

6.  Ozarks, Missouri

7. Somewhere quaint and cute in the midwest...haven't decided any particular place yet....

And then not included are places that I have already been and would like to go again...like Charleston, Napa, we love going to San Diego (it is where I got engaged!), Colorado/Vail, and Utah frequently, etc...

Where have you been and where do you want to visit next within the US?
Anyone want to donate to my vacation fund?

  1. Lake Havasu is to Arizona what the Lake of the Ozarks is to Missouri - pure bliss and fun! We love the Ozarks, go there all the time - and just posted about our latest trip there today!

  2. Recent favorite: Colorado Springs, CO. I'm currently working on planning trips to Portland, OR and one to the Grand Canyon. I've done at lot up and down the east coast but I have a new infatuation with the west coast!

  3. I love living overseas--but honestly, I prefer vacationing in the USA! I know that's a little weird, or backwards from how a lot of people feel, but there's so much to see and do in America.

  4. I've never been to any of these places either but would love to go! I also have Chicago on my list, and Charleston SC!

  5. Next time I'm back over there I'm hoping to dawdle through PA - lots of friends there I'd like to meet in a non-electronic form :)

  6. I hear what you're saying! There are so many great places to see right here in the U.S. I am desperate to see all 50 states. I've been to Europe and would love to go back, but honestly I want to see more of this country first.

We just visited the Grand Canyon for the first time. It was amazing! I really want to see Monument Valley next. We're going to Michigan this summer. I grew up there but can't wait to be back on the lakes up there.

Of course, Colorado where we lived is always on our list. I want to see Lake Tahoe too! Hawaii is up there on my list... and I really want to visit Maine and Acadia National Park!
